Finally, INEC Declares Winner Of Adamawa Governorship Election

 
Nigeria’s electoral umpire, Independent national Electoral Commission (INEC), Friday morning declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmadu Fintiri, the winner of the Adamawa State governorship election.

Fintiri polled 376,552 votes to defeat incumbent Governor Jibrilla Bindow of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Bindow got 336,386 votes, while Senator Abdul-Azeez Nyako of the ADC scored 113,237, followed by SDP’s Emmanuel Bello,

Declare Me Winner, Atiku Tells Election Petition Tribunal

 Files petition against Buhari’s victory

Alleges massive rigging, malpractices and non-compliance with electoral laws

Exactly 19 days after President Muhammadu Buhari was declared winner of the February 23 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has filed a petition challenging the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari, at the poll. 

Atiku and the PDP in the petition filed yesterday asked to be declared the winner of the election. In the alternative, he asked the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to nullify the election and order a fresh one that would be counted in line with the country’s electoral laws.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has explained why he will continue to criticise President Muhammadu Buhari, saying, democracy involves criticism and that it is not family affairs.
Obasanjo said the issues between him and Buhari were not personal.
