FIFA ban: I’ll clear my name – Samson Siasia. But how?

Samson Siasia has vowed to clear his name after world governing body FIFA banned him yesterday from football following an allegation of match-fixing brought against him.

Samson Siasia has vowed to clear his name after world governing body FIFA banned him yesterday from football following an allegation of match-fixing brought against him.
FIFA released a statement on Friday that the adjudicatory chamber of their independent Ethics Committee found that Siasia was “guilty of having accepted that he would receive bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches in violation of the FIFA Code of Ethics.”
However, Siasia who was in charge of Nigeria from 2010-11 and in 2016 was also in charge of the country’s U-20 and U-23 sides expressed shock and anger at his ban adding that he never received any letter from FIFA.
“I don’t know anything about this. I did nothing wrong and I have not received any letter from FIFA. How can you ban someone who was never given a chance to defend himself. I will fight and clear name,” Siasia stated.
Just last month, the aged mother of the 51-year-old Siasia who played 51 times as a striker for the Nigerian national team was kidnapped in his country home in Bayelsa and was yet to be released by her abductors.
The case is the latest to emerge from FIFA’s long-running investigation into the activities of Singaporean Wilson Raj Perumal, who FIFA has called a “known match fixer” and who has admitted such activity in several interviews.
FIFA said that Siasia was banned for life “from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level.”
Siasia has also been fined CHF 50,000 ($51,051.66).
However, FIFA’s Ethics Committee was yet to publicly state the games that Siasia is said to have fixed with the notorious Singaporean Wilson Raj Perumal, whose dirty involvement with African football is well-known – South Africa and Zimbabwe being notorious cases.

DARAMOLA IFE, A DIVORCED SINGLE MOTHER WROTE

I am writing to you in order to make someone understand that it's good to appreciate our partners despite their flaws.
I am 32 years of age.
My ex husband and I dated for 6 years.
We were best of friends.
I waited until he completed college and started work.
My family and his family then met.
We got married and had a son. (7 years old now).
My husband was short tempered at times but our problems started WHEN I WANTED TO MAKE HIM FEEL HE COULDN'T CONTROL ME.
Every time we argued, I would pack my bags, go to my family and explain.
My sisters would phone my husband and shout at him.
IF HE WAS CONTROLLING ME I WOULD ALWAYS DARE HIM THAT IF HE WISHED HE COULD DIVORCE ME.
I never wanted divorce.
I just had pride and I never wanted to look like a loose woman in his eyes.
One day I pushed him so hard that for the first time he beat me and locked me outside.
I went to my family, my family took him to the police, every time I looked like I was being abused!
But to be honest, I used to abuse my husband emotionally.
He was arrested and detained.
I was asked by his family to withdraw the case.
I felt that what I was doing was wrong.
My husband was never a violent man, he did what he did because I pushed him to the wall of which he openly knelt down and apologized.
I withdrew the charge, and we reconciled.
After three months, I packed my bags after a small issue and he remained alone.
After two days, I
received a call that he was in the hospital.
My family told me that I shouldn't go there because it would look like I was begging him and my sisters believed he was feigning the illness.
All this time, people felt sorry for me like I was the one being abused.
He spent a week in the hospital, after he came out, I just received a divorce summon.
I wanted to say no to divorce, but because I felt this pride, I wanted him to change his mind and beg me.
I called him and said he would get the divorce because I lived like I was in hell.
When we went to court, I wanted to make him pay, so I told the court that I needed his properties to be shared.
To my surprise he openly told the court that whatever he and I acquired together should be given to me, all he wanted was divorce.
We were divorced in 2009 July.
Now, my husband is married, whilst l am here wasted!
My family members are gossiping about me.
I depend on what my ex husband gives to my son for survival.
I know I wasted my
marriage.
I am here telling all wives that they should be careful how they get advise.
Some family members who pretend to love you show indifference ( 'I don't care attitude') Those that show you genuine concern intervene (interfere) in a wrong manner. Don't be cheated, don't entertain family interference in your marriage by every possible means my dear reader.
Even my young sisters are much more respected than me.
Those who encouraged me to get divorced are today teasing and bad mouthing me every where I go to.
THERE IS NO BENEFIT FOR PRIDE FOR NOTHING
Please ladies, be vigilant in your marriage.
Thought it wise to share my story to save your marriage.
SOMETIMES IT'S NOT THE MAN'S FAULT AT ALL, IT'S YOUR PRIDE,AND THE PEOPLE YOU ALLOWED TO ADVISE YOU,SO BE WISE AND VIGILANT IN YOUR MARRIAGE.

Insecurity in Nigeria: Gowon Calls for Caution, Commends Oyetola for Peace in Osun

Yakubu Gowon
Tobi Soniyi
As Nigeria continues to grapple with security challenges across the country, a former Head of State and leader of the Nigeria Prays Movement, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd) has called for caution.
Gowon spoke at the Government House, Osogbo, Saturday, when he led the leadership of the Nigeria Prays Movement on a courtesy visit on the Osun State governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

He also called for attitudinal change among Nigerians, saying peace and harmony would only be achieved in a refined society.
Gowon expressed regret that after the civil war, Nigeria was still battling with serial security challenges ranging from Boko Haram; kidnapping; banditry and lots more.
OneSimCard - save up to 85% on your cell phone calls while abroad He said that if the security agencies could not stop the security problems facing the nation, prayers could.
While urging Nigerians to work and pray for peace, the former Nigeria’s leader maintained that peace was sine qua non to socio-economic growth and development.
Gowon, who described Oyetola’s victory as one ordained by God, commended the governor for taking deliberate step to maintain peace in the state.
ConvertKit He said: “I am delighted and grateful to God for the opportunity to be here to pray for peace, unity, stability and progress of this country.
“We are here to pray for the well-being of Nigerians and for the leadership of Nigeria from President Muhammadu Buhari to state governors, particularly those in the South West.
“Our yearning for peace is very overwhelming, and as members of the movement, our role is to pray for the unity, peace and stability of our country. I had thought that after the civil war, we will not see any more crises. But what we have seen…it is unfortunate that after civil war, our nation has been battling with serial security challenges ranging from Boko Haram; kidnapping; banditry and lots more. If the security forces cannot do it, God has the power to change evil men to be good again, just like he did to Saul.
“We have to be careful so that we don’t push ourselves into doing things that will make us hate ourselves. We have seen the need to seek God’s intervention as the only way to rescue our nation from all forms of security challenges.
“We are here to pray and touch the hearts of Nigerians to embrace peace, unity and stability because it is our belief that God will touch the hearts of the evil doers.
“We are praying fervently to put our nation in the path of peace, and also to preach against things that can separate us or put us apart, and I am delighted to be in Osun to preach love and understanding to us for the good of our country.
“I must also commend the governor for the warm reception. I have never had such a wonderful welcome before.”
Responding Oyetola said he believed in the efficacy of prayers.
He said that with prayers, Nigeria could work.
He maintained that his victory as governor of the state was a testimony that God answered sincere prayers.
He attributed some challenges confronting Nigeria to lack of faith in God, urging Nigerians to renew their faith in God.
He also commended the former Head of State for displaying high sense of commitment to achieving a united Nigeria.
“I feel highly honoured to receive our former Head of State in Osun as I consider this visit a great honour considering the fact that you are a man of integrity, a man of honour and a man of peace.
“You have committed yourself to the service of your country, and even after your tenure as the Head of State, you have been preaching peace and unity anywhere you go. There is no doubting the fact that you have been so supportive to successive administrations without compromising the unity and oneness of Nigeria.
“I believe so much in the efficacy of prayer, and I believe that your visit will further help to strengthen peace, unity and stability in our state,” the governor said.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Prays Movement Team, accompanied by the governor and his wife, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola, was also at the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, Larooye II.
While receiving them, the Osogbo monarch maintained that Nigeria had remained as one today because of the efforts of Gowon.
He described Gowon as one of the country’s best. He said, “His commitment to the unity of Nigeria was the reason his name ‘Gowon’ had been fondly rephrased as ‘Go on With One Nigeria.’ General Yakubu Gowon is the best and the luckiest of all the Nigerian leaders. Because he is a good manager, he has maintained himself well and remained healthy even in old age. He loves the country and is committed to our unity as a country.”
The Osogbo monarch also lauded Governor Oyetola’s unique style of administration, describing him as a man of God and great gift to the good people of Osun State.
“Governor Oyetola is a gift to the people of Osun. He is a man that is gentle in the face but tough and decisive when it comes to taking actions that will positively impact on the lives of the people. A true believer, he will never doubt his God and that is why God has continued to lift him high. My prayer is that he should succeed till the last day of his tenure and beyond,” the monarch added.

RevolutionNow saga: Protesters, Buhari group may clash, Soyinka, others knock Presidency

Prof. Wole Soyinka
Olalekan Adetayo, Gbenga Adeniyi, John Ameh, Eniola Akinkuotu, John Alechenu, Chukwudi Akasike, Friday Olokor, Adelani Adepegba, Samson Folarin, Ade Adesomoju, Oladimeji Ramon and Godwin Isenyo

• Reveal your identity, Buhari tells protest sponsors

• We won’t participate in anti-FG protest – Northern group

The organisers of the #RevolutionNow protests on Sunday met to finalise preparations for the anti-Federal Government protests they scheduled for Monday (today).
After the meetings, which were held in Abuja and Lagos, the organisers said they would go ahead with the protests, despite the arrest of the convener of the #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore. The ‘RevolutionNow’ organisers said this just as a pro-Buhari group, #IStandWithBuhari, said it would also embark on a nationwide counter-rally in support of President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday (today). This, observers noted, could lead to a clash between the two groups.
Sowore had declared Monday (today) as the day of the commencement of a revolutionary protest tagged, “Days of Rage,” across the country to demand a better Nigeria.
But at 1am on Saturday, operatives of the Department of State Services invaded Sowore’s house in Lagos and arrested him.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, said Sowore was arrested for planning a revolution to destabilise the government of Buhari and was liable to be charged with treasonable felony.
One of the organisers of the protests and popular musician, Eedris Abdulkareem, said the ‘RevolutionNow’ demonstration would hold on Monday despite arrest of Sowore, who is also the publisher of an online news outlet, Sahara Reporters.
Abdulkareem told The PUNCH that the location of the protests would be communicated to the media on Monday morning.
The ‘Jagajaga’ crooner, while responding to an inquiry by The PUNCH, said, “Yes, we are still on course. By 6am on Monday, the information will be communicated to you.”
When asked if the protests would take place nationwide, Eedris said, “Yes, it will hold nationwide on Monday.”

Also, the Legal Adviser of the African Action Congress, Mr Inibehe Effiong, said the protests would still go on as planned despite the police threat.
Efiiong noted that the protesters would converge on the National Stadium, Surulere at 7am.
He said, “Yes, we will go on with the protests. In fact, we just finished a meeting on it. We will only meet at the National Stadium for the protests and it will be peaceful.”
#IStandWithBuhari group to stage pro-FG protests nationwide today
But a pro-Buhari group, #IStandWithBuhari, said it would embark on nationwide protests on Monday.
The convener of the group, Ogochukwu Ezeaku, told The PUNCH on Sunday that the protests were being held to counter the narrative that Buhari was not a popular leader.
He said they were meeting with the police high command as regards modality and rules of engagement since the police had said all protests in the FCT must be confined to the Unity Fountain.
Ezeaku said, “We are holding demonstrations across the country on Monday. The police have just called our attention to a release regarding protests. So, we are supposed to have a meeting with them but it is confirmed that the protests will hold.”
Sowore’s arrest, a travesty, says Soyinka
However, prominent Nigerians and groups, including the Nobel laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka; a human rights lawyer, Mr Femi Falana; and civil rights organisations, on Sunday supported the #RevolutionNow protests.
Soyinka, Falana and the groups, in their separate reactions, condemned Sowore’s arrest, describing it as a travesty.
Soyinka, in a statement on Sunday, titled, “Not Again!” disagreed with the police, saying there was nothing in Sowore’s actions or words that meant revolution in the sense of overthrowing the government.
The Nobel laureate, who flayed the police for the misuse of the word, ‘revolution,’ said Sowore’s arrest was a violation of the fundamental rights of citizens to congregate and make their concerns public.
Soyinka said Sowore’s arrest gave him a sense of déjà vu about how the military junta of the late General Sani Abacha clamped down on civil protesters, adding that security agents seemed to have learnt nothing from history.
He said, “Nothing that he (Sowore) said to me in private engagement ever remotely approached intent to destabilise governance or bypass the normal democratic means of changing a government. I, therefore, find the reasons given by the Inspector-General of Police for the arrest and detention of this young ex-presidential candidate totally contrived and untenable, unsupported by any shred of evidence. His arrest is a travesty and violation of the fundamental rights of citizens to congregate and make public their concerns.
“This is all so sadly déjà vu. How often must we go through this wearisome cycle? We underwent identical cynical contrivances under the late, unlamented Sani Abacha, when he sent storm-troopers to disrupt a planning session for a similar across-nation march at Tai Solarin School, Ikenne.
“This was followed up by a personalised letter that was hand-delivered by the State Security Services to me under their summons, at their Abeokuta so-called ‘Annexe’ with near identical wording to the threats contained in today’s release from the desk of the Chief of Police. At least, I was summoned, not subjected to a terrorist midnight arrest. Some irony!
“The same pattern Pavlovian conduct manifested itself under yet another supposed democratic ruler who personally declared that the gathering of civilians to deliberate on, and propose a constitution for the nation was ‘high treason’ and would be resisted by the full rigour of state power if we persisted.
“The Inspector-General of Police mobilised his forces and issued inflammatory proclamations, but PRONACO went ahead despite all the thundering from Aso citadel. Can the police ever learn anything from their tear-gassing and brutalising of grieving mothers who marched peacefully to protest the deaths of their children in a plane crash inferno?
“Their mission, under that same regime, which was simply to deliver a letter to the government house in Lagos, demanding greater safety in airline operations, yet such a rational intent, born of traumatic circumstances, was quashed on the sidewalks of a supposed twentieth century nation.
“And yet again, even a faceless cabal under yet another civilian regime refused to be left out of the insensate play of power. A march on Aso Rock calling for an end to governance by a ghostly entity was slated to be crushed, but fortunately, a conflicting balance of interests decided in favour of a reduced trajectory of protest. And so on and on and on, in a nation which continues to speak at once through both sides of the mouth, spewing out the same treason monotone, as if this was a magic incantation that could substitute for the venting of mass feelings, even as collective therapy.”
Soyinka said in the light of the tension in the country, arrest and detention of protesters would be counter-productive.
“If we cannot learn from the histories and experiences of other societies, let us, at least, learn from ours. Freedom is not so glibly qualified. It cannot be doled out like slops of charity from soup kitchens. Let the police stick to their task of protecting and managing protests, not attempt to place their own meaning and declaration of intent on bogey words like – revolution,” Soyinka said.
Peaceful protests not act of treason, treasonable felony – Falana
Falana also on Sunday condemned the ban of the planned Monday’s protests.
In a statement on Sunday, Falana said protest marches or call for revolution by the protesters was never an act of treasonable felony under any law in Nigeria.

He noted that with the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra in 2017 and the recent proscription of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, also known as Shi’ites, there was a dangerous trend categorising the activities of the critics of President Buhari administration as either terrorism or treasonable felony.
He explained that no provisions of section 37 and 41 of the Criminal Code Act, and the Terrorism Prevention (Amendment) Act or any order law criminalised peaceful protests or call for revolution as an act of treason, treasonable felony, or terrorism.
He noted that the Nigeria Police Force had only capitalised on the use of the word “revolution” to criminalise the planned protests.
He wondered why the leaders of the All Progressives Congress were not charged for claiming to have terminated the Peoples Democratic Party’s rule through “democratic revolution” in 2015.
He said, “From the above definitions of treason, treasonable felony and terrorism, it is crystal clear that the organisers of the peaceful rallies cannot be said to have planned to engage in acts of terrorism or formed an intention to remove President Muhammadu Buhari from office.
“The intention of the organisers of the rallies to protest the worsening security situation in the country, demand payment of N30,000 minimum wage to workers and job creation for our army of unemployed youths e.t.c. cannot by any stretch of imagination be said to constitute terrorism or treason in any material particular.
“No doubt, the Nigeria Police Force has capitalised on the use of the word “revolution” to criminalise the protests. If revolution has become a criminal offence in Nigeria why were the leaders of the APC not charged for claiming to have carried out Nigeria’s democratic revolution which terminated the 16-year rule of the PDP in 2015? Why was Dr Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu, the presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party not threatened with treason when he asked Nigerians to rise up for revolution via the 2019 general elections?
“Did all Nigerian senators led by the APC members not commit treason or terrorism when they spent one and a half hours on May 14, 2019 to debate Senator Chukwuka Utazi’s timely motion on ‘Bridging the gap between the haves and have-not to nip in the bud the seeds of a looming violent revolution’?”
Nigeria sliding to dark days of military regime – CSOs
Also, some civil society groups also slammed the Federal Government for opposing the planned protests.
The Convener, Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, condemned what he called the abduction of Sowore by the DSS.
He stated, “At a time when democracy is being entrenched and strengthened all over the world, Nigeria is sliding back to the dark days of military regime where citizens are being hounded and afraid to ask salient questions as to how they should be governed.”
The Advocates of People’s Right and Justice also condemned the arrest and detention of Sowore, insisting that it was the right of every citizen to protest by expressing their opinions on issues that affected them.
The APRJ Coordinator, Victor Giwa, emphasised that Sowore’s arrest on the basis of a call for protest, “is illegal and unconstitutional as the protest is to call on citizens to express their rage if they have any against the government.”
Condemnations also came from the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, Civil Liberties Organisation, Middle Belt Youth Council and the National Council of Tiv Youths.
The President of the CDHR, Malachi Ugwummadu, said the best that the police could do in the circumstance was to mobilise its operatives to keep proper surveillance on the protests.
The Director of the CLO, Steve Aluko, told one of our correspondents that citizens had a right to protest.
He said, “It is an ineligible right, the government that makes policies and programmes that promote inhumanity, marginalisation and vulnerability of its  people only propels the engine room to incite the people to legitimate revolt.”
Nobody should attempt RevolutionNow protests in Rivers, Wike warns
But the Rivers State State Governor, Nyesom Wike,  warned that nobody should attempt the RevolutionNow protests in the state, insisting that the state would not be part of it.
Wike, who spoke through a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, explained that the state did not subscribe to what such protests represented.
The governor directed security agencies in the state to arrest anybody involved in the protests and also take all necessary steps to prosecute such persons.
Middle Belt youths back anti-FG protesters
Also, the President of the MBYC, Emman Zopmal, told The PUNCH that President Buhari was overstepping his constitutional boundaries.
Also, the Third Force Movement of Nigeria under the umbrella of the Nigeria Intervention Movement also described peaceful protests as a constitutional right of all citizens.

The group said this in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Obe. It said it was illegal to criminalise or victimise any citizen for openly opposing the Federal Government’s policies
We arrested Sowore for threatening public safety – DSS
But the DSS confirmed the arrest and detention of Sowore.
The spokesman for the DSS, Dr Peter Afunnaya, confirmed this development to journalists, in Abuja, at the DSS Headquarters, in Abuja, on Sunday.
He said, “Whether Sowore is with the DSS or not? The answer is in the affirmative, he is with us.
“And why is he with us? He has crossed the lines, he has threatened public safety. Sowore, as a matter of fact, has threatened the peaceful coexistence, social harmony of Nigeria. There is apprehension, there is anxiety, citizens and residents are worried as to what will happen next.”.
We won’t participate in anti-FG protests –Northern group
But the Coalition of Northern Group distanced itself from the planned revolution march.
OneSimCard - save up to 85% on your cell phone calls while abroad The CNG declared that those organising the protests were “couriers of foreign destabilisation plot that are not in the interest of the North.”
Addressing a press conference at the Arewa House in Kaduna on Sunday, the CNG’s spokesman, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, said the North would not participate in the protest.
According to him, the group will not participate, support or encourage any actions that are potentially dangerous to the North.
He, therefore, called on all northerners to shun the protests and resist any attempt to be dragged into participating in any way in a movement that would turn out to the disadvantage of the region.
Soyinka, others are blackmailers, revolution won’t be tolerated – Presidency
But the Presidency has replied notable Nigerians opposing the action taken by the DSS in arresting Sowore.
It mentioned the name of Soyinka in particular as one of the critics, saying that much as the administration had respect for him and others, they appeared to be engaging in double-speaking and blackmailing the government.
The Presidency, reacting through the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, noted that the same Soyinka would criticise government for not taking actions against lawlessness and turned around to attack it when it took actions.
“You mentioned the name of Prof Wole Soyinka. Some of these critics of government are people whom we have great respect and admiration for. When things are going wrongly with the law and order in the country, they say the police are not doing their work. They raise their voices, asking that ‘the culprits to be booked and expeditiously punished in the most severe manner.’
“The police under a new leadership is now rising to the occasion, saying ‘we cannot take any more atrocities against the law in our country and they are saying don’t do anything.
“They are calling out President Buhari and comparing him to autocratic leaders. This is an unpardonable blackmail that cannot stop the police and other law enforcement agencies from doing their work,” the Presidency responded.
It added that the administration respected the right of Nigerians to carry out peaceful protests, but not a call to “violence.”
The Presidency added, “A Nigerian is by right empowered to call for a change of government using constitutional means; to protest peacefully against government policies and decisions. But to call for the violent overthrow of a democratically-elected government and President is worse, and is not acceptable under any law in Nigeria. Violence will ever be accepted again as a way to change governments in this country. Those days are gone.
“Nigeria has a well-crafted constitution and elaborate laws governing elections that guide an orderly succession in government. We have a judicial system that actively serves as a watchdog of the people’s rights.
“Yet, we are daily witnesses to obscene display of delight in the killing of our soldiers and policemen, an open contempt for the country’s laws and its people, accompanied by loud cheers from the so-called New Media. Is this the way to grow a country?”
Reveal your identities, Buhari tells sponsors
Earlier, Buhari had said on Sunday that elections remained the best way to change a government.
He stated that he already demonstrated this by presenting himself for a democratic election in February this year, where his party, the APC, won both the Presidential and National Assembly polls.
In a statement by the Presidency on Sunday, Buhari challenged the alleged sponsors of the ‘revolution’ to come out openly to be identified by Nigerians so that they would know where they (sponsors) stood.
It added that much as the administration respected the right of Nigerians to hold a peaceful protest, a call for a revolution was an incitement to violence.
The statement, which was signed by Shehu on Buhari’s behalf, partly read, “The President of Nigeria and his administration respect and uphold the right of every Nigerian to peaceful protests and civil campaign, whether to raise awareness on issues, and even oppose the government. It is the inalienable right of all citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to do so.
“There is, however, a difference between a peaceful call to protest and an incitement for a revolution.
“The organisation championing this planned action is not fronted by any serious public faces. We call on the sponsors and organisers to have the decency to come forward and make their identity known, out of respect to all Nigerians; so that Nigerians can be fully aware in whose name this ‘revolution’ is being proposed and who the beneficiaries may be.
“Less than six months ago, Nigeria held simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections. Both contests were won resoundingly by President Muhammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Congress party.
“The campaign was observed, and results were confirmed by international election monitoring groups and observers. The result is even being contested by the losing presidential candidate and his party in court.”
Arguing that elections were the best form of regime change, the Presidency added, “The ballot box is the only constitutional means of changing government and a president in Nigeria. The days of coups and revolutions are over.
“Those making the ‘revolution’ call hide behind the veil of social media modernity. But, without revealing the identity of their sponsors, this shadowy campaign is no better, and no more democratic, than the days of old.
“The President calls on all those who seek to use and hide behind everyday citizens to attain power through undemocratic and violent means, which has been alluded, to come out clearly and be identified.
ConvertKit “They should lead their march in person. Only then will they begin to have the right to call themselves leaders before the people of Nigeria.”  - PUNCH

How to Use The 7 Laws of Prosperity to Enrich Yourself

If you’re ready to live the life God desires you to have, it’s important to understand whole-life prosperity. Begin today with these 7 laws of prosperity.

Well-being. Success. Abundance. Overflow. These are all definitions of the good life—of prosperity. And despite religious tradition claiming that it is ungodly or selfish, prosperity is God’s will for you.
Have you ever noticed that the Scriptures don’t say God will give you just enough to get by? Instead, the Bible uses words like overflow, plentiful and abundance. God wants to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we can even ask or think (Ephesians 3:19-21), and He tells us that His only plans for us are success (Jeremiah 29:11). That’s a prosperous life!
God wants to bless us with whole-life prosperity to establish His covenant with us, give us life more abundantly, and empower us to bless others and further the gospel of Jesus Christ. The idea that God wants His people sick, sad or living in poverty is completely against His Word and His very nature.

God isn’t opposed to our being rich. That doesn’t upset Him even a little. In fact, He delights in our prosperity (Psalm 35:27). He’s just opposed to our becoming covetous and greedy. God has a full supply, lacking nothing, and He wants us to be the same way.
If you’re ready to live the life He desires you to have, it’s important to first understand how to get there. Begin today with these 7 laws of prosperity.

1. Prosperity Is More Than Finances

“I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” –3 John 1:2 (NKJV)

Whenever someone mentions “the prosperity gospel,” especially in a negative sense, they are referring to money only. That’s certainly part of living life more abundantly, but that isn’t all Jesus had in mind. It would be easy to settle for spiritual prosperity, but that type of spiritual laziness does not bring glory to God and give full honor to what Jesus paid for us to enjoy here on earth. It is the will of God for us to be made whole—spirit, soul and body—and to be kept that way until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ (see 1 Thessalonians 5:23).
What is included in whole-life prosperity?

  1. Spiritual Prosperity. To prosper spiritually, you must be born again. When you accept Jesus as your Savior and make Him the Lord of your life, your spirit is reborn and brought into fellowship with the Father, Almighty God.
  2. Emotional Prosperity. True peace and joy cannot be found in this world without Christ. That’s why we see people remarrying over and over, using antidepressants, contemplating suicide, tearing other people down, using drugs or even questioning their God-given gender. That is not the abundant life Jesus came to give us, and it is anything but prosperity. Jesus fills the voids: He brings answers where there were questions, confidence where there was insecurity, hope where there was once hopelessness.
  3. Mental Prosperity. The world thinks of mental prosperity as simply “knowing it all,” but God had something much better in mind. Mental prosperity includes revelation knowledge, mental abilities beyond our own, and a sharp mind until the day we go home to heaven. It means casting down imaginations and being in control of your own thoughts.
  4. Physical Prosperity. The world’s system of healing makes a god of the hospital and a god of medicine. Actually, for the most part, it leaves God out entirely, and without God, it will not work! God has a better way. He wants you to walk in supernatural and divine health all the days of your life.
  5. Relational Prosperity. Only God can truly prosper you in the area of relationships. He is the giver of good and perfect gifts. He can bring reconciliation where the world would say all hope is lost, and He can grant you a strong and lasting marriage, and healthy family relationships and friendships. There is a special peace in relational prosperity. He wants you to have it.
  6. Accomplishment Prosperity. In other words—favor. When you have favor, it opens doors for you and causes things to go your way—even when, in the natural, it may not seem possible. When you succeed at something, you prosper. God desires us to have success in life!
  7. Financial Prosperity. If a man came to you needing clothes and you didn’t have any clothes to give, both of you would be in trouble. We are to prosper so that we might provide abundantly for our own families, bless those around us, and fund the work of the kingdom of God here on earth.
This is the basic, fundamental truth that runs throughout the entire Bible. Every time there was a need, no matter what that need was, God had a man somewhere who had the resources—spiritually, mentally or financially—to meet that need.

2. Tithing Is Tied to Prosperity

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse…and try Me now in this…if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” –Malachi 3:10 (NKJV)

Handling someone else’s money is the testing ground—the qualifier—for Kingdom prosperity. This all begins with the proper handling of what belongs to God—the tithe. Tithing is the open door to THE BLESSING that God set forth to meet your needs, bless you, and keep you prosperous.
In Deuteronomy 28, God spoke to the Israelites about the curse and THE BLESSING. But just prior, in Deuteronomy 26, He talked to them about letting Him in on their finances—through the tithe. Why? Not because God needed the money, but because they needed help. They were going into the Promise Land where there were many challenges. So, He told them about tithing, the curse and THE BLESSING, in that order.
And you know, it’s still the same today. If you’ve been thinking, I believe in tithing, but I just can’t afford it,you’re going backward. Because if you don’t let THE BLESSING in, the curse comes in.

3. Debt Freedom Is Key to Prosperity

“The borrower is slave to the lender.” –Proverbs 22:7 (NIV)

Owing another man is bondage—a chain that belongs on no child of God. To live fully in prosperity, debt freedom is key. The world has a system of finance that is complex and very poor in operation. It continually rocks back and forth between the two extremes of depression and inflation.
However, when you are functioning in God’s system of finance, life can be very simple. Don’t borrow from anyone—get it from God. The problem with borrowing is that it is controlled by the world’s system. In order to borrow, you must subordinate yourself to another person. Instead, look to God, He will give to you, not loan to you!

When Kenneth and Gloria Copeland first set out to obey God according to Romans 13:8, which says “owe no one anything” (NKJV), they had a long way to go! However, they were determined. They sat down and wrote out what it would take to operate their household abundantly. Then they prayed over it in the Name of Jesus. At that moment, they made up their minds to never borrow money again, and in less than 12 months, they did not owe anything and haven’t owed a penny since.

4. Pay Taxes Without Grumbling

“Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.” –Romans 13:7

One of the major things that will foul up your life where prosperity is concerned is bad-mouthing the government and its leaders, particularly in the area of taxation. Most people are operating in strife where their taxes are concerned, and it has a direct relationship to the government that provides our financial system. One day the Lord told Brother Copeland, “Quit grumbling and complaining about your tax money. Pay it cheerfully the way you do your tithe, and I’ll bless it.” From then on, he and Gloria started praying over their tax money—just as they do their tithe—and they have never had a tax bill that they couldn’t pay.
Get strife and hard feelings toward your government out of your heart! The Word says we are to pray and give thanks for our leaders, not bad-mouth them! When you begin to change your heart and come into obedience to God’s Word in this area, it will open an area of prosperity you didn’t even know existed, and you will live in an abundance of peace in your land.

5. You Must Know How to Give and Receive

“Give and it shall be given unto you.” –Luke 6:38 (KJV)

The spiritual law of prosperity contains both giving and receiving. Jesus knew the spiritual law of giving, and He operated it proficiently. He gave to the poor at such an astonishing rate that when Judas left the room during the Last Supper, some people thought that he must be going to give to the poor.
Do you want a hundredfold return on your money—to live in financial prosperity? Give and let God multiply it back to you. No bank in the world offers this kind of return! Praise the Lord!
As believers, we need to exercise faith not only in seeking how much and where to sow, but also in receiving the harvest on the seeds we sow. Harvesting is vitally important because there are always more people that the Lord can empower us to bless when we are receiving the good things He has for us. Don’t get stuck in false humility, refusing to receive what God desires to give you. Instead, become a good giver and a good receiver—it’s spiritual law!

6. You Must Choose God’s System

“Be not conformed to this world.” –Romans 12:2 (KJV)

There are two choices before you—the world’s system or God’s system. This is true if you want to enjoy prosperity in your health, finances, mind, relationships, peace, joy or any other area of life. The world tells you to go deeper and deeper in debt, expect to get sick or diseased, get divorced if you don’t like your spouse, and do whatever makes you feel good in the moment. But those aren’t God’s ways. The Bible says the things of God are foolishness to the world (1 Corinthians 2:14).
The world will always give you the option of choosing its system, but God’s way is always the better way. When you come to a crossroad, you’ll see the world calling you to believe in pharmaceuticals, information on the internet, or the latest research. “This is the answer!” they’ll shout. Don’t expect God’s best to come from the world’s system. He will work around and through it in order to reach you, but it is always far below His best.
ConvertKit Don’t be conformed to this world. Choose God’s way—it always leads to prosperity.

7. You Will Have What You Say

“He shall have whatsoever he saith.” –Mark 11:23 (KJV)

In Mark 11:23, Jesus introduced a principle—a spiritual law—that works. It doesn’t make sense to the natural mind that with faith you can have whatever you say even though it may be contrary to what you can see with your physical eyes. But Jesus said it, and by the eternal Almighty God, it is so! When you act on it, mix your faith with it, and don’t doubt in your heart, this spiritual law will work for you!
God created all things by the power of His Word. Each time God spoke, He released His own faith—which was the very creative power that brought His words to pass. In doing so, He demonstrated how words are spiritual containers that carry the power to shape our destiny. Our words contain and release our faith. But what is most exciting is that when we speak God’s words about our lives, we release the creative power of God’s faith into our situations.

So, every time we confess the Word of God from a heart that’s confident God will do in our lives what He said—according to Jesus in Mark 11:24—we shall have what we say.
ConvertKit These seven laws of prosperity work the same as the laws of salvation, healing and so forth. We are dealing with the same God, the same Word, the same Jesus, the same force of faith and the same thief. A farmer can intend to have a good crop, but if he never plants the seed, how can he possibly produce a harvest? If you want to reap a harvest—you have to obey the laws! The seven laws of prosperity will bring results!

Revolution Now: What court decided on Sowore’s case

An Abuja Federal High Court will, on Thursday, rule in the application filed by the Department of State Services (DSS), seeking an order to detain Mr Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC)’s presidential candidate in the 2019 elections, for 90 days pending the conclusion of its investigation.
In an exparte order with number: FHC/ABJ/CS/915/19, Counsel to the DSS, G. O. Agbadua, told Justice Taiwo Taiwo that a video clip evidence was also attached to the application, NAN reports.
He urged the judge to grant the application seeking to detain the publisher of Sahara Reports beyond 48 hours as required by the law.
DSS had arrested Sowore over the weekend after he called for a nationwide staging of protests against what he described as a bad governance.
His arrest has since stirred reactions from well-meaning Nigerians.
The protest he tagged “Revolution Now” was planned to take place on Monday, August 5, before Sowore was arrested. The protest, however went on in some parts of the country.
Justice Taiwo, who adjourned the matter until Aug. 8, said the development was to enable him watch the video clip before delivering his ruling.

Release Sowore unconditionally to avoid international repercussions – Presidential candidates tells Buhari

Presidential candidates and aspirants of some political parties that participated in the 2019 general elections have called for the unconditional release of the presidential candidate of African Action Congress, AAC, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, who before his arrest was masterminding the RevolutionNow protest.
The Presidential candidates and aspirants, under the aegis of the Third Force, made this call via a statement signed by seven of the presidential candidates and aspirants, a copy of which was made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
Recall that Sowore, who is also the publisher of Sahara Reporters, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday by men of the Department of State Services (DSS), after he announced plan to lead a nationwide protest billed to take place on Monday (Yesterday).
But, the coalition of former Presidential candidates and aspirants in the statement said that President Muhammadu Buhari should be reminded that the constitution of Nigeria does not allow violation of human rights.
The former Presidential candidates and aspirants in the statement signed by Tope Fasua, 2019 Presidential Candidate, Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP), Okey Samuel Mbonu, 2019 Presidential Aspirant, Labour Party (LP), SKC Ogbonnia, 2019 Presidential Aspirant, All Progressives Congress (APC), Thomas-Wilson Ikubese, 2019 Presidential Aspirant, Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Emmanuel Etim, 2019 Presidential Candidate, Change Nigeria Party (CNP), Ayodele O. Favour, 2019 Presidential Aspirant, Young Progressives Party (YPP), Clement Jimbo, 2019 Presidential Aspirant, Social Democratic Party (SDP), implored Buhari to immediately order the applicable agencies of the state to immediately release Sowore unconditionally, in-order to maintain peace in our country, and to deter further national and international repercussions on this matter.
The statement read, “We, the Coalition of former 2019 Presidential Aspirants and Candidates, under the aegis of Third Force Forum, hereby demand the unconditional release of one of our compatriots, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, who was arrested by an agency of the government on August 2, 2019, pursuant to plans for a protest march across Nigeria; which is within his full constitutional rights toward “Freedom of Expression”, pursuant to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“We must also remind you Mr. President, that in addition to the Nigerian Constitution, Nigeria also subscribes to other International Treaties, which prohibit violation of human rights of her citizens.
“To refrain from adhering to these national and international rights, is to invite anarchy onto the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“As you are fully aware Mr. President, every democratic government that subscribes to the Rule of Law, has time-tested methods of containing any breach of the peace during peaceful protests; without clamping down on our fundamental rights of “Freedom of Expression” and to peaceably assemble, in-order to address grievances by the government; even when those views expressed are contrary to the views of the current government.
“Therefore, we implore you to immediately order the applicable agencies of the State to immediately release Mr. Omoyele Sowore unconditionally, in-order to maintain peace in our country, and to deter further national and international repercussions on this matter.
“Thank you for your cooperation in this matter Mr. President, we look forward to a mutually respectful Nigeria for all Nigerians.”

Sowore: How International Human Rights Commission writes DSS

The International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) has written to Nigeria’s Department of State Service (DSS) seeking intervention in the case between the detained Omoleye Sowore and the Federal Government of Nigeria.

In a letter addressed to the Director General of DSS, which was made available to DAILY POST in Abuja on Tuesday, head of Nigeria’s Central Office, Ambassador Friday Sani m, said it was necessary for IHRC to intervene, saying, mediation and peaceful resolution of national crisis is the way out globally.
The letter explained that the commission got to know through its official Representatives and volunteers working in Nigeria that Mr Sowore, a human right activist and Publisher was arrested by the DSS for calling for revolution.
Part of the letter reads: “We have been reliably informed by our official representives and volunteers from Nigeria over the developments that are culminating into a planned protest that eventually led to the arrest of some of the said protesters led by one, Omoleye Sowore.”
IHRC said, Nigeria’s democracy was fragile, hence, there was need for intervention as a matter of duty with a view to finding a lasting peace.
The letter further explained that it has reached out to some protesters as first steps, while hoping that details of protocols would be worked out for mediation arrangements if the request was granted.
The International organization calls for interim release of Mr. Omoleye Sowore and other protesters arrested with him to enable dialogue with immediate effect.
“On this note, we seek the interim release of Omoleye Sowore and other protesters arrested on account of protesting over the call for revolution now. ”

ECOWAS Meets Today To Review Corruption Fight In Nigeria, Other Nations

The meeting of the Joint Committee on Political Affairs, Peace, Security and Gender, Women Empowerment, Social Protection, Legal and Judicial Affairs will hold from Tuesday to Saturday in Ouagadougou.

by SaharaReporters, New York Aug 06, 2019

Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament is meeting on Tuesday over the status of implementation of the protocol on the fight against corruption in the sub-region.
The meeting of the Joint Committee on Political Affairs, Peace, Security and Gender, Women Empowerment, Social Protection, Legal and Judicial Affairs will hold from Tuesday to Saturday in Ouagadougou.
The protocol on the fight against corruption was signed in Dakar on December 21, 2001, and adopted by the Authority of Heads of State and Governments.
The protocol is to join the efforts of states in the fight against corruption by adopting preventive and suppressive measures against persons who engage in acts of corruption in the exercise of their public and private functions.
Eyesan Okorodudu, Head, Democracy and Good Governance Division of ECOWAS Commission, said the meeting was part of the commission’s effort to talk to the parliament on the level of implementation of the relevant part of the protocol.
He said there were many aspects of the protocol the commission would want to push for parliamentarians to implore the executive arm of government to exercise more political will to make operational.
Okorodudu said, “Under the preventive measures, we are looking at measures that will ensure transparency, efficiency in procurement processes, disposal of goods, works and services, recruitment of personnel into public services that is very interesting to us.
“The protocol is actually designed to promote and strengthen our development among the state parties in their efforts towards preventing corruption and also creating an opportunity for state parties to have bilateral relations.”
“To date, we have nine member states that have signed, it means the protocol has come into effect. It’s gone beyond the threshold about eight but when you have nine that have signed, it has come into force.
“What should concern most of the member states is that it’s already enforced which means all the state parties in the region should start enforcing the contents provided in the protocol.”
